    Dear HST Cluster SN team,

Here are a few additional notes concerning XMMU J2235.3-2557 (z=1.4),
the most distant X-ray massive galaxy cluster yet discovered. This
cluster was listed as "XMM33" in the SN proposal.

    - The cluster is spectroscopically confirmed with 12 concordant
redshifts. It is a massive structure (high Lx, high kT,
optically/NIR rich). Very likely more massive than RDCS1252,
previously the most massive structure at z>1.

    - VLT R/z/J/K imaging demonstrate the cluster is dominated by old
ellipticals which delineate a tight red sequence.

    - From a separate Cycle 14 proposal for XMMUJ2235, we were awarded:
            14 orbits NICMOS
             5 orbits ACS
These ACS orbits were transferred to the SN program according to our
       prior agreement.

    - Large follow-up proposals have been submitted to Spitzer, Chandra,
       XMM, and the VLT.

    - More information is available at

    Best wishes,
    Chris
