Dear HST Clusterer's,
As you know, the primary power supply on ACS died a couple of weeks
ago, and ACS operations have been switched to a second side of
electronics which contains a redundant power supply. Data from
our search was the first science data taken after the restoration of
the ACS to service.
With the help of David Rubin, Saul, Kyle Dawson and Tony Spadafora
images from our program have been used for a press release
demonstrating the return of ACS to service. You can see the Press
Release at
http://hubblesite.org/newscenter/newsdesk/archive/releases/2006/36/
A note of thanks has already been sent to Saul by Ken Sembach, the
head of the ACS group, for allowing the SN search images to be
used. But I would like to further extend those thanks to the PIs of
the various cluster programs for allowing our group's images to be
used, and also to David, Kyle and Tony for helping us get these
images out so quickly.
All the best,
Andy
