    very minor comments:

    page 1, para 1, line 11: "... by finding SNe Ia in z>1 cluster
    *ellipticals* ... " (rather than clusters)

    figure 2 left and right panel - should be larger - the figs are
    beautiful, but in the version i read, the labels are a bit too tiny

    figure 3, right panel - what is n_{gal} ? need to define for the
    illiterati like me.I must admit i am a bit confused by this plot, and
    in particular, by the large scatter at low n_gal (assuming n_gal is
    what i think it is).

    crazy point: is there a significant probability that the lensing
    amplification in these fields would significantly increase our
    probability of seeing even higher redshift (z > z_cluster) SNe? would
    these provide useful constraints (assuming we can detect and measure
    them)?

    page 6, section on "Supernovae rates..", line 5: 'hostless' -->
    `hostless'
